About Our Community

At Gives You Joy: Social, we turn strangers into friends by taking the anxiety out of meeting new people through curated, small-group shared experiences. We are incredibly proud of the community we have created, where everyone deserves to feel safe, supported, and welcome.

These guidelines outline what is expected when attending our events. By taking part, you agree to honour these values. Violations may lead to restrictions, suspension, or, if necessary, reporting to the appropriate authorities.

Respectful Behaviour

1. General Conduct

  • Treat everyone with kindness, patience, and respect, whether you've just met or know them well.
  • Avoid disruptive, aggressive, or inappropriate behaviour at all times.
  • Be mindful of event etiquette: show up on time, be considerate of group dynamics, and treat venue staff with courtesy.

2. Harassment and Bullying

  • Harassment, intimidation, or bullying—whether online, in our WhatsApp groups, or in person—has absolutely no place in our community.
  • Personal attacks, discriminatory remarks, or any form of verbal abuse will not be tolerated.

Age Misrepresentation

We carefully match guests by age and personality to create the best possible shared experiences and to keep everyone safe and comfortable.

Falsifying your age, whether to appear older (to bypass our 18+ policy) or younger (to join events aimed at a different age group), breaks the trust we are building and will result in immediate removal from the platform and all future events.

We appreciate your honesty—it helps make Gives You Joy: Social feel like a safe space for everyone.

Child Safety

Gives You Joy: Social (operated by Mood Broker Ltd) has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Protecting children is a fundamental priority, and we prohibit any content, conduct, or use of our platform that sexualises, abuses, endangers, or exploits a child.

Gives You Joy: Social is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. People under 18 are not permitted to use our services, and we will remove any account we find belonging to someone under 18.

What is Prohibited

  • Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form.
  • Grooming, solicitation, or any attempt to sexualise, exploit, or endanger a child.
  • Sharing, requesting, or linking to CSAE content.
  • Any use of Gives You Joy: Social that puts a child at risk of harm.

How We Respond

  • We act on reports of CSAE and remove violating content and accounts.
  • We permanently ban users who engage in CSAE.
  • We comply with all applicable child safety laws and report apparent CSAM to the relevant national and regional authorities.

How to Report a Concern

If you encounter any content or behaviour within our community that may involve child sexual abuse or exploitation, report it to us straight away at hello@givesyoujoysocial.com. Reports are reviewed promptly. If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

Behaviour at Venues

We partner with amazing local venues to create memorable experiences—please help us keep those relationships strong.

  • Respect the space: Follow any house rules, and treat venue staff and property with care and courtesy.
  • Keep it classy: Avoid loud, disruptive, or inappropriate behaviour that could negatively affect the experience of others in the venue.
  • Know your surroundings: While our concierges do their best to curate a safe environment, Gives You Joy: Social is not responsible for incidents that occur at the venue or outside our platform.

Prohibited Activities

To maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful community, the following behaviours are strictly prohibited at all Gives You Joy: Social events and across our platform.

1. Violence and Harmful Behaviour

  • Threats, physical altercations, or any form of violence will result in immediate removal from our community.
  • Any association with extremist or terrorist groups is strictly forbidden.

2. Sexual Misconduct

  • Sexual harassment, inappropriate comments, unwelcome advances, or touching are not tolerated.
  • Nudity, explicit content, or the promotion of sexual services is strictly prohibited.

3. Hate Speech and Discrimination

  • Any form of hate speech, slurs, or dehumanising language based on race, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, or other personal characteristics will not be tolerated.

Event Etiquette Guidelines

At Gives You Joy: Social, the little things make a big difference. To help everyone feel comfortable, respected, and included, we ask that all members follow these simple event guidelines.

1. Arrive on Time

Arriving on time helps the event flow smoothly and shows respect for the group, particularly for those who may be feeling socially anxious. If you're running late, just drop your concierge or the event WhatsApp group a quick message.

2. Bill Payment

Please pay for what you ordered, unless the group agrees to split evenly. If you've enjoyed extra drinks or courses, be mindful not to leave others covering the cost. A little fairness goes a long way to making everyone feel comfortable.

3. Keep Us in the Loop

Plans change, and we completely understand! If you need to cancel or adjust your attendance, just let your concierge know as soon as you can via WhatsApp or at hello@givesyoujoysocial.com. It helps us run the event smoothly and offer your spot to someone else if you can no longer make it.
